Gujarat NRE Minerals (Australia) gets permission to upgrade NRE No.1 mine

The revamp involves commissioning of a new longwall (3,500 t of run-of-mine coal per hour) in December 2011. As a result, the capacity of the mine will increase to 3 mt. The mining face will be 145 m long, with an increase to 390 m possible within the next five years. The equipment will be supplied by Joy Manufacturing.
