South African iron ore miner Kumba Iron Ore (Kumba) cut exports from Sishen to 8.8 mt of lump ore and fines in Q2 (8% down q-o-q), because extraction at the mine field dropped to 8.7 mt (12% down) due to adverse weather conditions. At the same time, domestic shipments increased to 1.9 mt (6% up) amid firmer demand from the main consumer of the material, ArcelorMittal South Africa.
