Japanese scrap suppliers maintain prices to South Korea due to steady demand on other routes

Exporters in the Far Eastern scrap market are in no hurry to offer discounts in view of stable demand in alternative markets (including the domestic one). Nominal prices for HMS 2 presently stand at JPY 28,500/t ($246/t, $1 = JPY 116.01) FOB. Exporters plan to add JPY 500-2,000/t ($4-17/t) to the offers on the back of stable buying at home and an expected upturn in demand in Vietnam.
