Wait-and-see approach of China’s iron ore consumers yields results

China’s iron ore importers have managed to get lower prices again owing to the wait-and-see approach to which they have been stuck since Tuesday. Prices for 61.5% Fe Pilbara material have edged down by $1/t, coming close to the level of last Friday. Some buyers have responded to price cuts made by exporters. Australia’s Rio Tinto has finally closed a tender to sell Pilbara fines at $121.89/t CFR, which was cancelled on February 18 due to low bids, Metal Expert has learnt. The highest bid level was $122.7/t CFR then.
