Asian traders continue booking South Korean square billet

Far Eastern buyers remain highly interested in purchases of South Korean square billet. Exporters have been in talks mainly with regional traders this week, while purchases by re-rollers, particularly those from the Philippines, have decreased on sufficient semis stocks. A large regional trading company has bought 5,000 t of YK Steel’s billet at $565/t FOB, for February shipment, $15/t below initial offers. Notably, transactions for the material shipped in January took place by $5/t lower.
