Aspire Mining (Australia) completes feasibility study into Ovoot project and determines quality of cleaned coal

In the fourth quarter of 2012 Australia’s Aspire Mining completed feasibility study into its Mongolian Ovoot Project, expanding its resource from 224 mt to 257 mt (ash – 16-36%; CSN – 6-8). The material will be extracted by open-pit and underground mining (0.75 mtpy). The open-pit mine will have an initial capacity of 6 mtpy (from 2016), but it will increase to 12 mtpy of concentrate (from 2018) along with infrastructure development. Open-pit will remain operational for 20 years and underground mine – for 11 years.
