Evaluation of Agroforestry Systems for Sustainable Agricultural Development in China

摘要

The sustainability of China's agricultural and forestry resources is seriously challenged by changing biophysical and social-economic conditions. Experience suggests that agroforestry can play an important role in sustainable development in China. This paper reviews the current nature of agroforestry systems and methods of economic evaluation for agroforestry systems in China. It shows that the evaluation of a-groforestry systems in China is mainly concentrated on financial productivity. It also shows that this is insufficient for the evaluation of agroforestry for sustainable development.
