This volume is, as the title makes quite explicit, a curricu-lum for helping preschool to third grade children with ASDsaddress social impairment challenges. The curriculumadopts the theme of Pirates (captains, buccaneers, voyages,booty), and the cover features two adorable children dressedup in pirate costumes. The Pirate theme is carriedthroughout every chapter, describing adventures, piratedreams, loot sharing and chanties for the children to learnand sing. The behavioral expectations for the children suchas "considerate hands" or "courteous hand signals" aretaught through discussions with the children, using media tosupport the discussion at the "Captain's" discretion. Anemphasis is placed on the idea that not only the group leaderbut other children do not like misbehavior, and that once thechild understands this, he or she will be motivated to modifybehavior.
