EVALUATION OF AN EFFICIENT TYPE OF PHEROMONE TRAP TO MANAGE LEAF MINER, APROAEREMA MODICELLA DEVENTER IN GROUNDNUT

摘要

An efficient trap design is a prerequisite for mass trapping to be effective. Hence four types of pheromone traps were evaluated for their relative efficacy in capturing male moths of groundnut leaf miner. In all the standard weeks, the delta traps attracted significantly highest number of leaf miner adults i.e. from 74 moths / trap (34th week) to 0.50 moths per trap (45th standard week). The total number of moths trapped also were significantly high in delta traps (245.17 moths/trap).Hence the deltatrap was superior to all the other traps to mass trap and supress GLM in the field.
