摘要

Metaphors are useful yet tricky tools - they help us make sense of experience but, unchecked, can become more 'real' or stable than the experience itself, with the risk that we act according to the metaphor rather than stay attuned to the experience. Therefore a word of caution is sounded by Jeff and Julie Crabtree reminding readers that people are not models, no matter how useful any models and accompanying metaphors, representing human behaviour, may be. Therefore the insights offered in this book should be tested and weighed against lived experience.
