Welding of PE casing pipes in district heating

For the safe and economically viable utilisation of the plastic casing pipe laying system in the district heating supply over decades, the PE casing pipes and their joints must withstand the arising mechanical and thermal stresses. This means that the welded PE joints must be executed by qualified companies with certified plastics welders. The welding procedures to be applied, the prerequisites for the performance of welding work as welhas the requirements and the testing procedures are defined with the revision of the DVS 2207-5 technical code which is divided into one main sheet with two supplements.
