WIDOS butt welding machines and saw for PE pipes with an outside diameter up to 2,400 mm

Due to the refinement of pipe extrusion installations and of the PE raw material with improved processing properties (low sagging), it is today possible to manufacture axially extruded smooth-walled large-diameter pipes with an outside diameter up to 2,400 mm and a wall thickness up to 140 mm. Such PE pipes can be welded on the building site and in the workshop with the new butt welding machines called "WIDOS 24000" (Fig. 1,Table1)and "WIDOS 24000 WM" (Fig. 2, Table 2) from WIDOS Wilhelm Dommer Sonne GmbH. Piping components such as segment bends and T-pieces can be manufactured with the workshop welding machine. The programme is supplemented by a new large-diameter pipe saw with a saw chain.
