摘要

Volumes of jet fuel traded around the world currently account for about 30% of global demand and are growing fast. The efficiency of trade flows to match supply and demand and reliability of supply were highlighted during a session on trading at the recent International Air Transport Association (IATA) Aviation Fuel Forum held in Dubai last month (JFI May19’14). Toby Davies, aviation manager for Swiss global jet fuel trader Vitol, set the stage by illustrating the main features of the world jet fuel market. During its 6,510 nautical mile journey, the average arbitrage cargo typically changes hands six times as it travels from low-cost production centers in the Middle East and Asia to the main European market.
