The plant solution proposed and implemented at Secil Outao Cement factory improved the original coal handling system by providing the following features: Faster truck unloading. A wider selection of vehicles to carry material to the plant. A buffer quantity of material at the entrance of the storage system, which is particularly useful when the silo is being serviced. A variable speed system of aprons, meaning that the extractor can feed the mill regularly and precisely, according to the control room recipes. Flexible storage operations offered as a result of two stacking methods. A higher reclaiming capacity and continuous operation offered by the bucket-type machine. Reduced personnel costs due to the high degree of automation of the whole system, particularly of the storing and reclaiming equipment. A safe and adequate de-dusting system, which ensures environmental protection inside the Setubal Park.
