New Record of Nala nepalensis (Burr, 1907) (Dermaptera: Labiduridae: Nalinae) from Taiwan

a labidurid earwig, Nala nepalensis, is recorded from Taiwan for the first time. a key to the Taiwanese species of Nala is provided.The genus Nala Zacher belongs to the subfamily Nalinae of the family Labiduridae, and comprises 13 species distributed in Ethiopian, Oriental, Australian and South Palearctic faunal regions (Kocarek, 2006). Seven of them have been known from South East Asia (Steinmann, 1989a, 1989b; Srivastava, 2003; Kocarek, 2006), but only one species, N. lividipes (Dufour, 1828) has hitherto been known from Taiwan. In the course of a survey of Taiwanese earwigs, I found many specimens of N. nepalensis (Burr, 1907), which would be recorded in the following lines. All specimens are preserved in my collection for the present.
