JCI Celebrates 100th Anniversary in Chinese Market

In November 1916, Johnson Service Company (predecessor of Johnson Controls) designed a thermostat for refrigeration equipment at an U.S. Navy institution in Beijing. This thermostat is considered as being the first product Johnson Controls (JCI) launched in China, and was used for controlling the temperature of cold storage facilities, laying the foundation for JCI's rapid expansion in the Chinese market.
