Sntheses of 1,2,3,4,6,7,12,12b-Octahydroindolo[2,3-a]-quinolizine and harmicine using a chiral 1-Allyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-beta-carboline as the starting material

Total syntheses of (S)-1,2,3,4,6,7,12,12b-octahydroindolo[2,3-a]quinolizine and (S)-hanrmicine were carried out using chiral 1-allyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydr-beta-carboline as the starting material.In recen tyears,we have developed a general method for the formation of a chiral center at the C-1 position of geta-carboline nucleus using chiral auxiliaries derived from readily available amino acids and their derivatives.
