NEWS FROM THE 10~(TM) INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ALZHEIMER'S AND PARKINSON'S DISEASES (AD/PD)

Barcelona was the setting for this year's International Conference on Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Diseases (AD/PD), the 10th installment of the biennial congress, held on March 9-13, 2011. Consistent with the previous meeting in Prague, a great breadth and depth of new information was provided on the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and related disorders. The oral and poster sessions have been mined for data on the newest treatments that have shown therapeutic potential in early investigations. Also highlighted are presentations on new compounds for imaging in Alzheimer's disease, as well as an oral session that provided greater context for the ongoing search for understanding and conquering these diseases.
