Diagnostic Imaging Review:Abdominal mass and pain in a patient with pancreatitis

A 60-year-old male with a medical history notable for pancreatitis and alcohol dependence presented to the emergency department with a 3-month history of left-sided abdominal pain and vomiting. He reported a 30 pack year smoking history and an unquanti-fiable history of alcohol abuse. On physical examination, vital signs were within normal limits, and the abdomen was soft, flat, and nondistended with a palpable, tender mass in the left upper quadrant. Results of hematologic and comprehensive metabolic panels were within normal limits. GT scan of the abdomen was obtained (Figure 1). What does the image reveal?
