In the 1970s,a new class of stable compound of pentacoordinate silicon was discovered in the laboratory headed by M.G.Voronkov.their general formula was Z=O,S,NR';R,R=orgnaic substituents.These compunds were named dragonoids becausetheir structure looked like the alchemists'favorite symbol,a dragon devouring its tail.
