Because of rapid product design cycles, engineers are increasingly required to analyze data from model-based simulations and physical validation tests quickly and efficiently. Data acquisition systems collect hundreds of channels with high sample rates, which can create large amounts of test data. In addition, complex simulation models generate even larger amounts of data. On one hand, design engineers and engineering analysts must often understand test data to properly design a product and to develop and correlate to simulation models. On the other hand, development engineers must often review analysis and simulation results to properly instrument and setup tests.
