Time literally seems to be standing still here.Behind a nondiscript door at the "Royal Building" of the Technical University(TU)Dresden,Germany,stored in massive wood cabinets from the 1920s,lies a very special treasure-the world's largest collection of dyes and pigments.Over 10,000 specimens from 80 different companies reveal the history of colorants and the companies that made them.A large part of the collection is made up of items from "Badische Anilin & Soda-Fabrik Ludwigshafen," today's BASF and BASF Coatings.The oldest samples in Dresden from what is now BASF go ail the way back to 1895.
