A study was conducted to demonstrate the phenomenon of hysteresis in turbulent boundary layers. A turbulent boundary layer of an incompressible fluid on a flat plate under the action of the longitudinal pressure gradient was considered in such a way that that the velocity at the outer boundary of the layer was specified by the power law. It was demonstrated that two characteristic regions, such as outer and wall ones, were distinguished in the developed turbulent boundary layer. An intermediate region formed over the logarithmic sublayer near the wall, in the outer part of which the velocity profile obeyed the square-root law. The asymptotic matching of the solutions for the outer and wall regions was also performed under the study.
