摘要

The problem of the penetration of a spherical indenter into a half-space with a functionally graded elastic coating is considered. It is assumed that the law of the variation of the elastic properties over the thickness of the coating is an arbitrary sufficiently smooth function of distance from the surface of the coating. In the analysis, the previously obtained approximate analytical asymptotically exact solution of the corresponding contact problem is used [1-3]. It is shown that, with any arbitrarily small contact zones, the character of the contact interaction of coatings whose gradient of the variation of the elastic properties over the coating thickness reverses sign is different from the behavior of both homogeneous and layered coatings.
