A study was conducted to describe a unique optical method of remote corona-discharge diagnostics with the help of the developed monophoton sensor of the ultraviolet (UV-C) range. The feature of the designed monophoton sensor was the its ability to determine the coordinates of the detected photon and the time of its arrival. It provided the possibility for the sensor to detect the amplitude-time characteristics of the UV radiation instead of only to visualize the position of the UV-C-radiation source. The photon from the UV-C-radiation source came to the optical system, while the optical system served for the formation of an image on the photocathode surface. The optical system transmitted the UV-C-radiation photons and suppresses all others and the transmitted UV-C-radiation photon came to the TPSD input.
