摘要

The existence of forced longitudinal vibrations at the frequencies of transverse vibrations for flexible deformable strings is experimentally demonstrated (linearized differential equations describing the transverse–longitudinal motions of prestretched strings were first published in [1]). The vibration spectra of the string of a musical instrument are investigated. The transverse components ensure a driving force for the longitudinal motions of the string particles. The contribution of the longitudinal components to the dynamic load of the string and fastening elements of details attached to the string is on the order of the transverse components. Resonance between the eigenmodes of the longitudinal vibrations and transverse-vibration modes is experimentally demonstrated.
