In a move that highlights the capabilities of the company's Wuxi, China facility, Perkins has launched a new electronic 4.4 L four-cylinder diesel engine designed and built at the site. Perkins has introduced the Tier 3/ Stage 3a 1104D-E44 engine available in two versions - the 1104D-E44T is a turbocharged unit offering power ratings of 80.4 to 99.9 hp, while the more powerful 1104D-E44TA is a turbocharged aftercooled model that tops out at 142.1 hp at 2200 rpm, with peak torque of 410 lb.ft. at 1400 rpm. According to Perkins, the engine is available worldwide and is suitable for all major applications in construction, agriculture and power generation.
