摘要

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing a requirement that the emissions control systems of large diesel and gasoline on-highway trucks and buses be monitored similarly to passenger cars via onboard diagnostic (OBD) systems. At the same time, EPA is winding up to make similar requirements for off-highway diesels. EPA said its proposed regulation for OBD systems for large trucks and buses would help ensure that emissions control systems work properly for the useful life of heavy-duty on-road vehicles, and one would assume eventually off-highway machines.
