A TVs are often the vehicle of choice for ranchers, foresters, utility workers, hunters and farmers. They are especially popular in rugged areas where farmers and ranchers need to work, but where an ATV would be overkill. In an effort to address this gap, a Scottish company has developed a small, diesel-powered off-road motorcycle targeted toward ag, forestry, grounds care, construction, utility and other applications where high mobility, low cost and low environmental impact would be a benefit. The Ecorider Hippo, built by Ecorider Ltd., Nairn, Scotland, hearkens back to such venerable vehicles as the Cushman Eagle scooter, but incorporates more modern features, including a choice of diesel or gasoline engines, a tubular steel frame and heavy-duty plastic body components.
