6.0L power stroke diesel debuts on Ford Tonka concept truck

The North American Inter- national Auto Show provided the venue for the introduction of Ford's Mighty F-350 Tonka Concept Vehicle. This bold, rugged statement in sheet metal and chrome is said to establish baseline design and styling cues for the next generation of Ford F- Series pickup trucks. The Tonka certainly provides a great deal to build on with its confident stance and inspired geometry. Its appearance builds on familiar Ford F-Series lines, but exaggerates them with the sturdy playfulness of a Tonka. The Mighty F-350 body has a drop- down beltline, round wheel openings and oversized grille with side nostrils. It does not have a "B" pillar so the rear doors are hinged at the rear, or "C" pillar. This creates an open feel somewhat like a hardtop convertible, but with a much more commanding view.
