Gearboxes are present in nearly all mobile applications whenever a rotational speed or a mechanical torque has to be modified or transformed. They are used on light and heavy machines. Mobile applications include transmissions, slew drives and lifting with extended use also found in mining and construction equipment for airport and bridge work. In marine, gearboxes reduce the high speed of turbines and slow the speed of screw propellers.
