RIDING THE RAILS - DaimlerChrysler supplying Actros road-railer vehicles to Turkish rail system

DaimlerChrysler said it has received a major order for 65 Mercedes-Benz Actros 1832 all-wheel drive road-railer trucks from the Turkish state railways (TCDD). Prime contractors in this significant project are the Ankara-based Koluman group, long-standing partners of DaimlerChrysler AG in Turkey and Mercedes-Benz Turk, Istanbul. The first vehicle was delivered during the InnoTrans show in Berlin, Germany, to the director general of the Turkish state railways, Suleyman Karaman, during a ceremony at the stand that DaimlerChrysler shared with its implement partner Zagro Bahn- und Bqumaschinen GmbH, Bad Rappenau, Germany, and Zagro's distributor G. Zwiehoff GmbH of Rosenheim, Germany. The three companies together presented numerous examples of road-railer applications.
