Indian tractor maker Escorts Limited is aiming for a 10% market share in Gujarat during the next fiscal year, up from its current 7% as the company seeks to become the top manufacturer in the high-end tractor market segment in India over the next three years. Chief Executive Officer S. Sridhar said the company wants to achieve 25% market share in the segment of 50 hp and above tractors. Sameer Tandon, head of sales, services and spare parts for Escorts Agri Machinery, said the company is third in that segment with a 12% market share. "While we are eyeing the number two slot nationally, we want to have at least double digit market share in the western state of Gujarat next fiscal," Tandon said.
