A novel, diesel-powered vehicle has been developed to combat excessive fuel use and cut emissions from taxiing aircraft. Taxiing to and from airport terminal gates and runways is a source of increased and unnecessary carbon dioxide emissions as airplanes frequently use their main jet engines to carry out slow-speed movements. The result is an increase in local air and noise pollution, heavy fuel consumption and even costly damage caused by foreign objects.
