NetApp Streamlines Data Management for Petpotechnical Applications

Increasing workloads in seismic interpretation and reservoir modeling are driving workflow efficiency in exploration and production environments. In addition to needing more rapid interpretation, results must be highly accurate to mitigate risk and improve production. Three-dimensional visualization allows E&P asset teams to view seismic data in ways not possible in the past, resulting in faster, more accurate interpretation. While these new applications provide more accurate characterizations and reduce time to production, they are extremely data intensive, requiring high availability and throughput. Many exploration and production data management infrastructures strain to keep up.
