Honolulu Firm Submits Plans for Two Hawaii WTE Plants

Honolulu-based firm Pelatron Q has submitted plans for two plasma gasification facilities in Hawaii, Waste Management World reported. The company has submitted a land use request to the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands for a 5 megawatt (5 MW) development in Oahu. Pelatron has also reportedly signed a preliminary agreement with PVT Land Co., a landfill, for feedstock. Hawaiian Electric Co. or NexEra Energy Inc. could potentially sign offtake agreements to accept the electricity to supply their customers, the company said.
