DME-powered trucks moving closer to reality

DME for use as truck fuel has been issued specifications for its use by the American Society for Testing and Material International (ASTM), progressing its potential commercial introduction as another diesel alternative in the U.S., Today's Trucking reported. DME fuel producers, engine manufacturers, infrastructure developers and others involved in the introduction of DME as fuel will see this as an important milestone, according to the International DME Association. Converting natural gas to DME can address key issues in the adopting of other alternative fuels, including distribution, storage and fueling concerns.
