Dear Client, In recent weeks a number of high-profile announcements on coal-based power generation have been made, with renewed efforts to reduce coal emissions through the implementation of advanced technologies such as carbon capture and sequestration (CCS). Even still, energy demand growth in Asia in particular is likely to result in the construction of hundreds of new coal-fired power stations as coal emerges as the world's number one energy source. The push to utilize coal in cleaner methods provides opportunities for the development of advanced technologies such as Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC), particularly in regions without access to low-cost natural gas.
