Tata Motors, Tata Power developing WTE solution for rural India

Tata Power Company and Tata Motors are developing a WTE conversion engine for use in rural areas of India, providing a cheaper alternative to diesel and kerosene used to generate power for homes and farms, Livemint reported. The gasification device will convert farm and wood waste into power to supply it for off-grid applications with the help of local grid networks, the companies, both a part of the Tata Group companies, said. "We are in the early stages of this study, as joint teams have identified various work streams and milestones for the project with regular evaluations at the apex levels," a Tata Motors spokesperson said.
