Kunming Steel Invested Coated Production

Kunming Iron & Steel Group announced its galvanizing and color coating mill, broke ground recently, is to come into commercial operation by May 2004. The key upgrade project of Yunnan ten-five-year-plan will cost RMB471 million, and add Kunming Steel 150,000 tpy galvanized coil and 100,000 tpy color coated coil. Korean POSCO Engineering & Construction was awarded to preside overall technology about the 14-month scheduled construction. Kunming Steel said new mill will be fed black plate from its CR strip & plate in its Kunming works.
