GE and China's Shenhua Group may now proceed with their joint venture (JV) plans to provide coal gasification technologies to projects in China after the government approved an anti-monopoly filing submitted by the companies, Beijing Times reported. The approval, according to a circular by the Ministry of Commerce (MOC), includes an additional condition designed to limit the possibilities of the JV monopolizing the market. The circular stated that the condition was attached as the JV may "eliminate and restrict competition" in the market for the licensing of gasification technologies in China.
