In January, Ben van Beurden took over as CEO of Shell and immediately reoriented the company's LNG business, shelving three North American LNG fuel plants in addition to the Arrow export facility in Australia. This major realignment by an international oil and gas company sent ripples throughout the LNG industry through the rest of the year, both in the large-scale export sector as well as the LNG fuel sector. In 2015, it will be interesting to see if the tide of divestment has been stemmed or if other industry players will continue to pull out of LNG plays.
