China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has completed construction of the Da-lian LNG project in China after the No.3 storage tank was successfully put into operation, LNG World News reported. Construction started in 2008 and a majority of the terminal was completed in 2011. The project is China's first large scale LNG terminal that is domestically designed, procured, constructed and managed. The first phase of the project will have an annual receiving capacity of 3 mtpa, gasification capacity of 5.2 mtpa and gas deliverability of 7.6 billion cubic meters. The No.3 storage tank has an overall capacity of 160,000 cubic meters, bringing total capacity at the Dalian terminal to 480,000 cubic meters.
