Tanzania is nearing a decision on proposed LNG export plants in the southern region of Lindi, according to The Globe and Mail. BG Group, ExxonMobil, Ophir Energy and Sta-toil have submitted proposals for the liquefaction plant, as the Southeast African country and its neighbor Mozambique look to exploit considerable natural gas reserves to become a major player in the global supply market by 2020. A decision is on the site is expected by the end of the year.
