India's GAIL announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) to transport LNG sourced by GAIL from the U.S., The Hindu reported. Under the MoU, SCI will handle the transportation of 5.8 million tonnes per annum of LNG being sourced by GAIL from the Sabine Pass and Cove Point terminals in the U.S. GAIL has signed a sales and purchase agreement with Cheniere for 3.5 MTPA of LNG from the Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Louisiana for 20 years.
