Tanzania is trying to balance domestic demands and needs with the promise of potentially lucrative exports of its natural gas reserves as the country develops its energy policy. According to a Reuters report, energy minister Sospeter Muhongo wants all future LNG terminals to be built onshore in order to benefit the East African nation's economy. Lawmakers in the country are also debating how much of the reserves should be kept for domestic power consumption and how much should be sold and exported to foreign entities.
