Thailand's PTT to double LNG imports in April

Thailand's PTT has doubled LNG imports next month to avert possible power outages during a scheduled supply disruption from Myanmar, Thai News Service reported. Two shipments of 70,000 tonnes each will arrive in April. The company would normally receive one shipment a month. PTT estimates that its imports will reach 2.4 million tonnes this year. Imported LNG is now quoted at US$18-US$20/MMBtu compared with US$10/MMBtu for gas from the Gulf of Thailand.
