Spectra, BG to develop BC natural gas transmission system

Spectra Energy Corp. announced September 10 that, together with BG_Group , it will develop plans for a new natural-gas transportation system from its natural gas hub in Northwest British Columbia (BC) to BG's proposed LNG-export facility in Prince Rupert, Canada. The 850-kilometer (528-miles) transportation system will be capable of transporting up to 4.2 billion cubic feet of gas per day. The project will help monetize BC's surplus natural gas supplies by facilitating exports to high-demand markets in Asia.
