Petronet CEO: global LNG supply to exceed Indian demand

India can expect to see declining LNG prices soon, moneycontrol.com reported September 4, citing comments from Petronet LNG CEO Dr. A.K. Balyan. Last month, GAIL India signed an agreement with Spain's Gas Natural Fenosa for supply of 3 billion cubic meters per year (2.1 million tonnes or 290 million cubic feet per day) until 2015. GAIL was able to obtain a price between US$10.00 and US$10.50 per MMBtu, the website reported. Balyan believes that prices will fall further to US$9.50 per MMBtu.
