Spain's Gas Natural may bid for Repsol's LNG assets

Spam's Gas Natural Fenosa has hired Citibank to analyze the possible purchase of Repsol's LNG assets, Platts reported Sept. 5. In July, this publication reported that Repsol was looking to sell its LNG-related assets in Canada, Peru and Trinidad and Tobago. The Madrid-based company holds approximately 75 percent of the Canajport LNG regasification terminal in Eastern Canada, a 20 percent stake in the 4.4 million tonne a year (mt/y) Peru LNG plant, and 20 percent of the four-train, 15 mt/y Atlantic LNG facility in Trinidad and Tobago.
